5 Minute Greek Dip

Happy Tuesday!  I have been meaning to prepare some quick dips for entertaining around the holidays for a while now and for some reason it just gets pushed down on my list of things to do.  That is, until now.  I am about to share with you a super simple Greek dip that is always a huge hit at the parties and family functions.

This dip is so versatile and quick to make.  Next time you are heading to a potluck or a gathering sign yourself up for an appetizer and try this recipe.


  • 1 Block Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Feta Cheese
  • 1/4 Cup Plain Yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp. Chopped Fresh Dill
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1/2 Tsp. Pepper
  • Chopped Green Onions
  • Chopped Cucumber
  • Diced Black Olives
  • Diced Tomatoes


  1. Mix cheeses, yogurt and spices until blended smooth (either in a food processor or by hand).
  2. Pour mixture into dish and spread evenly.
  3. Top with fresh vegetables.
  4. Enjoy!

I like to serve this dip with homemade toasted pita chips.  Simply break up some pita bread and throw it on a cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees turning once until crispy.  This is a great dish… give it a try.

For a school project we are required to make some sort of Greek dish and explain its origin. I figured pita bread with some sort of dip would be simple and easiest to satisfy most of the students and I’m almost guarenteed it will be a big hit.I was just wondering if anyone knew any of the historical history or significance of this recipe and if it orginally was called something else? I also know there is another cucumber yogurt dip called Tzatziki and if anyone knew a quick recipe for that as well and what their opinion of it is that would help greatly. Thanks so much. -Julie

First, let me say, I don’t cook and can royally screw up the simplest thing. I decided to make this for a Dip-off at work and it was so easy and quick to make. Mine came out really thick (maybe I measured something incorrectly? or maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be) but I just added more yogurt until I got it to a consistency I liked. The results…I won tastiest dip! It was a hit! Thanks so much for the recipe! I will surely be making this again. :)
