It is smoothie day today. I have been quietly detoxing this week with the assistance of an RD and fellow client Danielle Omar. I will not sit here and say this is easy but it is somewhat fun and challenging. The details of this detox essentially remove dairy, sugar and gluten from your diet. For Cooking, that is a difficult but I have five days under my belt and am feeling pretty good. A few headaches on day 1 but other than that – we are good.
Breakfast has been a smoothie everyday and this one I want to share with you. FYI Cooking Juniors and Mrs. Cooking are loving the smoothies.
- Frozen raspberries and blueberries
- Frozen banana
- Flax seed
- Chia seeds
- Almond butter
- Ice cubes
- Almond milk
- Protein powder
- Add in blender and mix until smooth
Zesty Tip: Ice cubes are a great way to adjust the thickness of the smoothie. You can also omit the almond milk and just use water…. still tastes great
