All About Tea

by zesty on December 16, 2009 · 27 comments

If you have been following my blog or know me personally, you will be aware that I am not a huge fan of tea.  However the other morning I had a nice green tea from Tetley for breakfast and I really enjoyed it.  I matched the green tea up with some toasted oat bread with honey and cinnamon, stonyfield yogurt and berries and a single serving of bran buds.  I have to say it was delicious.

Last night after working at the house I made a quick trip to the grocery store and picked up a few bags of groceries.  At the office we are collecting food hampers for families in need around the holidays so I wanted to do my part.  While there I came across an interesting tea from Stash called “Vanilla Nut”.  I gave it a look over and a smell and I thought I would give it a try.

At first smell I thought it was very strong but it had turned out to be quite tasty.  Vanilla is one of my favorite flavors and as I sipped more and more the taste grew on me.  It was definitely stronger than the plain green tea.

What is your favorite tea?

When do you like to drink tea?

Just a couple of questions above and hopefully I get a better response than my milk quiz yesterday.  By the way in yesterday’s quiz all the answers were “True”.

I hope you have a great Wednesday.  Guess what?  The cleaners are working at the house today!!  It is getting close …. moving day is FRIDAY!  Talk to you tomorrow.

Take care

I like to drink tea after lunch, especially during the winter months. My favorite is honey green tea by the republic of tea. I also really enjoy making steamers with hot almond milk and tea. So comforting on a cold day!

I like regular old English Breakfast tea with a splash of milk. When I’m at my apt. I have a cup before bed but when I’m at my parents’ house we drink it all day long!

I’m not a big tea drinker either. Drinking green tea without food always upsets my stomach and the flavored teas seem to artificial to me, but in these super cold months I’ve been drinking it more just to get my water intake in.

Good luck with moving!

My husband loves tea but I’m not a fan – mostly I’d rather have coffee. I do often enjoy a cup of mint tea in the evening after dinner and I do like Genmaicha (popcorn tea). Actually, thanks for reminding me…since I’m working from home this afternoon, I think I might just have a cup of Genmaicha. :)

I love tea! My current fav is:
Stash Double Spice Chai Black Tea with pumpkin spice creamer…it’s spicey, christmasy gloriousness….try it if you like spices!

My favorite tea is Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spiced Tea. While coffee is my beverage of choice in the morning, I like to drink tea after the noon hour or in the evening when reading or knitting.

Stash’s Chai White Tea with some almond milk and stevia!

Good luck with your move…I am excited for you all!

I like herbal teas and roobois teas with my favorites being gingerbread cookie from teavana, strawberry lemonade also from teavava, and my nightly honey vanilla chamomile from celestial seasonings.

I love Tazo Earl Grey and Stash Chai tea. I drink more tea in the winter months. I do drink green tea, but I don’t enjoy it.

My favorite teas are oolongs, specifically Iron Goddess of Mercy, which is particularly delicious.

I like to drink tea all day, really, but usually try to stop by late afternoon so that I can sleep!

Stash chai is my favorite! I drink it every morning (with milk and sugar of course)

I’m glad to see you are developing an appreciation for tea! We list both of these teas for review on

Tea is so diverse…there are always teas for everyone. It’s great to see that you like the Vanilla Nut Creme because the only review of it so far on my site is unfavorable! I love how people have such diverse tastes…that’s what creates the diversity of flavors and varieties of tea that makes the tea world so interesting!

The vanilla nut creme tea sounds delicious! I love green tea, but also like apple-cinnamon and a variety of other holiday-themes teas. I enjoy cups of tea throughout the day during the colder months. Yogi is my favorite brand.

Congrats up the impending move!!

Sorry Cooking, milk obviously isn’t my area of specialty (quite the opposite!). But tea on the other hand … I am an addict! I drink it all day, every day, but mostly herbal. I might have a green or white first thing in the morning, or some oolong or green tea when we eat out, but otherwise, just herbal.

Lately I am into the Sweet & Spicy Red Tea from Good Earth. Their White Tea – Vanilla is also pretty awesome. We are big mint tea drinkers (even the husband who doesn’t usually like herbal)), and the Tazo Refresh is still our favorite. I also love Yogi’s Ginger Tea, but it is for true ginger-lovers only – very potent! Obviously, I could go on all day, but these are the ones I am drinking most right now (I have about ten different types of tea in the cupboard at any given time :)

I don’t like plain tea. But last year I discovered from Tetley : Blueberry Green Tea, Mango Passonfruit Acai Green Tea and Pomegranate Green Tea. I love these teas. And I don’t add milk or sugar. Also there is from Lipton, berries tea in pyramid bag and mandarin orange green tea.
I drink tea only at work.

I drink tea almost every week day morning at work. I almost never drink tea at home! I’m a big fan of Choice Organic’s Moroccan Mint Green Tea. I’m a picky tea person and the other Moroccan mints I’ve tried just don’t measure up.

I love Yogi teas.

Since you like that stash tea, you would probably love the Tahitian Vanilla Hazelnut tea from Yogi.

It’s my current favorite. Yum!

Green teas, and especially Jasmines are my faves (I generally prefer loose leaf to bags, too). I could, and often do, drink tea all day long. I used to be more of a coffee drinker, but after a few cups my mouth is feeling like it’s coated with smoke and my stomach starts to churn (could be because I only take it black, too).

Zesty you should give Tazo a try- sooooo good. I love their Zen, and have recently discovered their Cucumber White. Light, refreshing, and delicious!

I love Earl Grey and green teas. Call me spoiled, but I strongly prefer tea leaves to bags, particularly for green tea.

Earl Grey – love the aroma and the taste
These cold windy eveings, I have had some lovely cups of mint tea – great to sip while reading in the tub.

living in england, i’m definitely spoiled for choice when it comes to tea! but my morning favourite is clipper’s pure green tea. otherwise, i’ll go for peppermint or camomile to calm down. if i have a cold, then i don’t even bother with a tea bag and just steep some chopped up ginger root and a slice of lemon in a mug of hot water. :)

Don’t make me choose among my Tea children. I love them all equally! No, I really have a few favorites…love that Jasmine since she tastes like flowers, Green with lemon, Earl Grey, good old Good Earth and Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride!

24 Kate December 17, 2009 at 11:46 am

I’ve found more and more that I love iced tea year round. I’m a huge fan of green teas, and lately Earl Grey has been my go-to choice. Stash is also my preferred brand as I have never been disappointed with any of their options. They have a Green and White Fusion tea that is always in my cupboard. During these pre-Christmas days, I love a good steaming cup of Earl Grey in the late afternoon as the sun goes down.

Well… I’m a tea-lover, and I think I’m a “good” tea-drinker.

First of all I never drink tea-bag brews if it’s not a must do! Because no matter what the brand is the tea used in tea bags are all just “dust” of tea.

Once you start using loose leaf tea you can never give it up and never turn back to tea bags :)

I have a few kinds of fav. teas. Let’s group them.

Greens: Jasmine pearls (you must! try :) )
Moroccan mint
Sencha (Japanese)
Blacks: Darjeeling is always #1!!
A blend of Assam and a bit of Ceylon with loads of cloves, cinnamon stick pieces, ginger pieces and sometimes dried orange peel… You know this blend is also called Christmas blend.. My fav.! This blend is also goes well with simple green tea.

And of course… Earl Grey… is always a joy….

And when do I drink tea?

Almost any time of day… I mostly prefer black teas for breakfast. The brisk taste of -especially Assam- is perfect for breakfasts. (And of course it’s up to your breakfast traditions. Let’s say as an example that a cup of light green tea wouldn’t match a rich English breakfast :p)

I prefer green Morroccan mint tea after dinners. So digestive…

And I like trying new kinds of teas during the day if I have any chance.

And I can reccomend rooibos tea as a day-time drink…

Hope this helps a bit :)

I can talk about tea for ages!!!

I am with Banu! Although I will occasionally get seasonal stuff in bags, like the various hoiday teas by celestial seasonings, I am a loose tea person as well. I usually buy bulk of black, darjeeling, yerba mate, stevia, honeybush, and rooibis and blend them as I desire, incorporating any spices, vanilla bean, herbs that I have in the cabinets or the garden.

Pineaple sage and fresh mint are out of this world in tea…as are basil and marigold!
